After some teasing, leaks and speculation, the new 8 inch Windows tablet Acer Iconia W4 debuted in India and Hong Kong. This model follows the Acer Iconia W3, that was a modest device, with a not so impressive display and CPU. This newcomer has all the makings of a hit, though.

The Acer Iconia W4 is not available in the US yet, but both Amazon and B&H have listings for the product, so it’s certainly coming. Acer Iconia W4 packs an 8 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, an Intel Atom Z3740 quad core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 to 64 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. There’s also WiFi and Bluetooth, a micro HDMI port for connecting an external display, as well as a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 MP front shooter.

Acer claims that the tablet will run up to 8 hours on a single charge. The Acer Iconia W4 weighs around 0.9 pounds and its maker claims that the new model has better viewing angles. Its priced tag is estimated around $330 when it launches in the US.
