Amazon has just started offering in the UK one of the smallest Honeycomb slates out there: Acer Iconia Tab A100. Priced at 299.99 quid, or $485, the device is pictured below and available now via Amazon UK. Turns out that the product will be released on April 20, 2011, but you can pre-order it right now, if you can’t wait.

This is a Tegra 2 device, so we’re dealing with a dual core tablet, with 8GB of HDD, Bluetooth and WiFi. The price above is the same that Samsung asks for the Galaxy Tab, in the WiFi-only version and wit a single core CPU, so you’re getting a bargain with the Iconia Tab A100. Too bad for those 8GB of internal storage and the 512MB of RAM…

Will you go with oversized devices with 10 inch touchscreens or tiny ones such as this one or the lower resolution Dell Streak 7?

It’s got a memory slot. So it’s down to this or the HTC Flyer for 7″ tablets in the first half of this year. Still not sure how 1.5GHz single core will 1GHz dual core.
