Thanks to a tipster from Poland, we’ve just learned that the Acer Iconia A100 tablet has disappeared from most sites there it was detailed. Turns out that the product could be discontinued by Acer and we can’t help but wonder if the production will be resumed of if the slate will be completely replaced by a new Acer model.
This 7 inch unit was pretty promising, but now it seems to have been withdrawn from production. Right now Acer refuses to comment on the situation and we should mention that the Iconia Tab 100 was supposed to be one of the first Honeycomb tablets with a 7 inch screen. Initially, it was supposed to launch in the second half of April, then mid-May and now the product disappeared.
Meanwhile, Slashgear is claiming that the slate has been delayed and not canceled, so it remains on track for second half of 2011…
