Huawei has officially unveiled the MatePad 11.5 S 2025, a mid-range tablet that blends a premium design with creator-focused features. Available in both standard and Soft Light Editions, the latter features a nano-etched matte display that significantly reduces glare (down to 2%) and meets TÜV Rheinland’s certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing. The 11.5-inch 2.8K IPS display supports an adaptive 30–144Hz refresh rate and covers the full P3 color gamut.
The tablet weighs 515g, measures just 6.1mm thick, and comes in four colors: Field Green, Feather Sand Purple, Frost Silver, and Deep Space Gray. It arrives just as the recently unveiled MatePad Air 2025 was announced.
Under the hood, it runs HarmonyOS 5.0, with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Huawei claims a 27% performance boost over the previous generation thanks to a redesigned cooling system. Power is provided by an 8800mAh battery with 40W fast charging. The camera setup includes a 13MP rear shooter and 8MP front-facing cam, both capable of 1080p video. You’ll also get quad speakers with Histen 9.0 audio tuning, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen 1), and low-latency stylus/keyboard pairing via Huawei’s Star Flash tech.
On the software side, Huawei is leaning into AI with a revamped Notes app offering handwriting beautification, formula recognition, and 60x canvas zoom. The Xiaoyi assistant handles real-time translation, problem solving, and document-based Q\&A. Digital artists will appreciate the “Born to Draw” mode with 3D oil brushes, animation tools, and smart color palettes—though the M-Pencil Pro 3 stylus is sold separately.
Pricing in China starts at $305 for the 8GB+256GB Wi-Fi base model. The 12GB+256GB version is $345, while the Soft Light variant with the same specs comes in at $390. The top-end 12GB+512GB Soft Light Edition is priced at around $450. No word yet on international availability.
