Honor is back with a new high-powered slate, and it’s clearly targeting gamers. The newly unveiled Honor Pad GT2 Pro steps up from last year’s model with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a faster 165Hz refresh rate, and a design built around immersive visuals and sound. It’s one of the few Android tablets pushing high frame rates seriously, and Honor says it can actually hit 165fps in CrossFire: Gunfight King, matching its panel’s ultra-fast refresh capabilities.
The 12.3-inch OLED display still features a “3K” resolution (likely 3000 x 1920 pixels), but now pairs that clarity with smoother gameplay and scrolling. Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (not the “8s” from last year) is a major boost in power, backed by up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. A new graphene cooling system promises better heat dissipation for extended sessions.
Battery capacity also sees a small bump to 10,100mAh, though there’s no confirmation yet on charging speeds—last year’s 66W fast charging might return. The slate measures 5.8mm thick and weighs 580g, slightly heavier than its predecessor (555g), but still very portable.
For audio and tactile feedback, Honor is going all in again. The GT2 Pro packs eight IMAX Enhanced speakers and a haptic feedback engine, aiming for an entertainment experience that feels cinematic whether you’re gaming or streaming.
The Honor Pad GT2 Pro launches in China on July 28, with pre-orders already open via Honor’s online store. Available in Ice Crystal White and Phantom Gray, the tablet is offered in four configurations with early bird pricing in effect:
- 8GB + 128GB: $296 (CNY 2,125)
- 8GB + 256GB: $320 (CNY 2,295)
- 12GB + 256GB: $356 (CNY 2,550)
- 16GB + 512GB: $403 (CNY 2,889)
No word yet on a global release, but if Honor plays its cards right, this could shape up to be one of the most exciting Android tablets of the year—especially for gamers who want flagship-level hardware without the traditional laptop form factor.
