Samsung has a brand new rugged tablet incoming, known as the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5, which has just leaked in renders. These are official looking renders, which give us a good look at the device.
It’s a departure from the Tab S9 series, even the Tab S9 FE models. This is more about functionality, rather than looks. The follow-up to the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro has been detailed by the folks of MSPowerUser. We seem to be getting 3 physical buttons below the display and a textured back side, with raised bars of sorts.
Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 5 packs an 8 inch WUXGA LCD display, with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. There’s quite the bezel here and the product comes with more of a portrait orientation. The back side is padded with what appears to be plastic paneling, for extra durability and shock absorption. The device will rely on both fingerprint scanning and face recognition for security.
Available in two memory configurations: 4/ 64 GB and 6/128 GB, the product will be powered by an Exynos 1380 processor built on a 5 nanometer process. We’ll also receive a 5050 mAh battery. The shell is IP68 certified and we even get a dust resistant S Pen, which has the same rating as the tablet itself. For pics, the device will pack a 13 megapixel shooter, with 4K capture at 30 FPS.
We could see an announcement at CES 2024 in Las Vegas.
