Huawei held a pretty big event on September 14th, during which it unveiled new watches, the GT 4 series, plus the FreeBuds Pro 3 headphones. They weren’t alone, as we also got to see a new tablet, the Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMate Edition, which is detailed below.
The device packs a 2.2K 120 Hz display, with an 11.5 inch diagonal. It’s a PaperMate screen, which supports input from the second gen M-Pencil stylus, with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and a 2 ms delay. The tablet also has integration with Huawei Smart Keyboard. As far as the design is concerned, we’re dealing with a slim and light machine, with a metal body.
It measures 6.85 mm in thickness and weighs 499 grams. Inside we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, together with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. There’s also HarmonyOS 3.1 on board, as the OS. There are special features here like Group collaboration Smart Multi Window and easy data sharing via the SuperHub for Huawei phones and the Super Device features.
As far as the camera is concerned, there’s a 13 megapixel main cam with autofocus and an 8 megapixel front camera with a FollowCam feature, that keeps you in focus as you move. The tablet has quad speakers with Huawei Histen 8.1 technology and a 7700 mAh battery which offers up to 10.5 hours of video playback on a full charge.
It provides 22.5W fast charging, supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6. Huawei MatePad 11.5 PaperMate Edition is priced at $497 and comes in Space Grey.
