MediaTek has been on a roll recently, launching several solid CPUs, including those in the Dimensity 8000 series and Dimensity 9000 ones. However, they have only been available on smartphones and none of them have reached tablets. Turns out that one will, as the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is heading to the Lenovo Tab Extreme tablet.
The device is the apparent successor to the Lenovo P12 Pro and it has just leaked via the Google Play Console. The Lenovo Tab Extreme is going to provide the high end MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor. The device has a screen with a 3000 x 1876 pixel resolution apparently and also 8 GB of RAM. It will run on Android 13 from day one, probably with some tweaks from Lenovo, particularly from the ThinkShield suite.
The device may launch before May, because that’s when the Pixel Tablet is expected to pop up, after a few teasers. The Lenovo Tab Extreme comes with the codename “TB570FU” and it comes with very slim bezels and a front facing camera that barely fits on one. Keep in mind that we don’t know exactly what flavour of Dimensity 9000 we have here: could be Dimensity 9000, Dimensity 9000+ or the Dimensity 9200, which was recently unveiled.
I also expect 128 GB of storage, a 13 MP camera with 4K capture and stylus support.
