Fresh after the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite and Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G, here comes another batch of Samsung tablets. This time only in leak form and it would appear that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 family is ready for debut. It’s going to include a Galaxy Tab S8 model, a Tab S8+ and a Tab S8 Ultra. They’re specced and detailed below.
The logical expectation is that the trio of devices will come in August, when the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 will debut, together with the S21 FE. Now as far as the leaks are concerned, the core model will be the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, with an 11 inch IPS LCD screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and a dual back camera (13 MP + 5 MP), as well as an 8 megapixel front camera. It’ll have a side mounted fingerprint scanner, 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. Then there’s an 8000 mAh battery, quad speakers, an S-Pen and 45W charging. Everything fits in a 6.3 mm thin chassis, that weighs 502 grams. This one starts at $743.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ grows to a 12.4 inch OLED panel with 120 Hz refresh rate and also has an under display sensor (fingerprint), a 10.090 mAh battery and a 5.7 mm thickness. It weighs 575 grams. This one starts at $1030.
The most powerful of the bunch is called Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and it offers a 14.6 inch OLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate and dual front facing cameras (8 MP + 5 MP ultrawide). There’s an under display fingerprint sensor and a huge 12.000 mAh battery. It weighs 650 grams and measures 5.5 mm in thickness. It will come in two versions: one with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage and the other with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. We’re expecting a 92% screen to body ratio here.
This model will be priced starting from $1317. There will also be accessories, like covers, keyboards, styli and more. It will be interesting to see which CPUs are inside, with all this talk of an AMD GPU and Apple M1 Exynos rival.
