We’ve heard at some point over the past month that we were about to see a tri folding Samsung tablet and the name thrown around was Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Tab. Now a similar name has been trademarked by Samsung in Europe. We’re also in the wait for a Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 in the meantime, both expected to drop in July.

The new trademark from Samsung Electronics shows that there’s truly a foldable tablet in the making. Its trademark description mentions “smartphones, tablets”. On April 23rd 2021 Samsung Electronics filed a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), with the application categorized as a Class 9 one. The Z Fold would serve to complete the Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold lineup, possibly by adding a “Tab” particle”. Samsung’s rumored tri fold tablet is reported to be ready for launch in the first quarter of 2022.

We’re also expecting at least a teaser for it during the Samsung Unpacked summer event, where the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 will be introduced. Lenovo already has a foldable tablet/laptop, but that one has been unveiled about 2 years ago and has failed to spawn a successor or be commercially perceived as a hit. The segment of foldable tablets is in its infancy and there are multiple problems to solve, starting with costs, continuing with the hinges and then the panel production. Not to mention screen protection and UTG tech…

And what about the rollbles?
