Huawei is not stopping its tablet launches anytime soon, so now it’s readying the MatePad C3 model for launch. It has just leaked and seems to sport an 8 inch screen, plus a MediaTek CPU, all of them detailed below. It seems that recently there were two entry level Huawei slates certified by the Chinese authority 3C.
Their model numbers are AGS3-W00D and AGS3-W00E and these are tablets with 10W chargers. One of them will end up as the Huawei MatePad C3 and it’ll have an 8 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Inside we find a MediaTek MT8768 processor, accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. There’s also a single 5 MP back camera, plus a 2 MP selfie shooter. Finally, to those we add a 5100 mAh battery. The product runs on EMUI 10 based on Android 10 and there’s also Bluetooth 5.0 supported here.
The source also mentions a pricing of around $224, which is kind of high for a wannabe entry level device. $180 or $160 would have been better received. It sounds like a product for the educational environment, for kids, for casual users. We can’t tell if it’ll have Google services or not, but their lack seems more likely. Expect a plastic body, big bezels and modest performance. It’ll run arcade games at best and be used for YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and the likes.
