There’s a new tablet in town, the ASUS K014, that has just been leaked via a benchmark. GFXBench is the culprit and what we’re dealing with here is an 8.9 inch slate, with a quad core Intel Atom processor, the Z3745, a very popular choice for ASUS lately.

This CPU is clocked at 1.8 GHz and on bard we have Android 4.4.2 KitKat, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Finally, there’s a 5 megapixel shooter here at the back and a front 1.2 MP camera. At Computex alone ASUS debuted about 5 or 6 tablets, so a new model already puzzles us. This one may be seen as a sort of PadFone, maybe a flavour of the PadFone X, but that one was supposed to have a Snapdragon CPU, so it’s not it.

Judging by the proof we have so far, this is not a PadFone, so we could be dealing with a total newcomer, maybe a surprise Nexus 8? We do know that HTC is expected to make the Nexus 8, but Google has always liked tradition and working with the same people, so who knows? This could also be a new MeMo Pad model, to diversify even more the product line. What do you think?
