We’ve heard about a 5G iPad, a mini LED iPad, but it’s the first time we hear about the iPad Air 4. The device has just leaked and it’s said to come with a 11 inch screen and an USB-C port. The report comes from Japanese blog Macotakara and claims that Apple wants to switch up the iPad Air Series.

The 11 incher will have an USB-C port to replace the Lightning one. The source quotes unnamed Apple suppliers and also says that the device will have a similar design with the iPad Pro 11 inch, with slim bezels and maybe even Face ID. Apple seems to have created a trend of increasing iPad display sizes in all rangers. The report also mentions that the iPad Air 4 will rely on an Apple A13 Bionic chipset, also found on the iPhone 11 and the new iPhone SE.

Macotakara says that the fourth gen iPad Air will be developed starting from the 11 inch iPad Pro. In screen Touch ID was also rumored for a while, although that doesn’t exactly sound realistic right now. At the moment, Apple offers the 10.2 inch iPad for $329, while the 10.5 inch iPad Air goes for $499. The iPad Mini is priced at $399. I can’t help but wonder how the new iPad Air will change an Apple Pencil sans Lightning.

There was another report in May that mentioned an iPad Pro with a 10.8 inch may come in the second half of the year. A 9 inch or 8.5 inch iPad Mini is also rumored to come next year, but it will keep its Lightning port.
