After some leaks, presentations and speculations, Adobe Photoshop for iPad is finally here. Adobe unveiled the app at the Max Design Conference and it debuted version 1.0 of the app. With iPads becoming so powerful nowadays, it was only a matter of time till photo editing tools caught up allowing us to start editing old photos into full colour and more.
The app gets a brand new design, that focuses on running it on a larger screen of a portable machine. It does include the familiar tools and features like compositing, retouching and masking. Future updates will expand functionality closer to the desktop one. One of the features lacking right now is the pen tool or the animation timeline. Interestingly enough, the base code of the app is the same as Photoshop on desktop.
Adobe also bets big on cloud and its Cloud PSD file format, which will be crucial if you want to sync your work across tablet and desktop. There’s also auto save and support for other cloud storage locations, not just Creative Cloud. There’s a classic toolbar on the left side, that includes tools like brush, clone stamp,type, lasso or healing brush. Use this AI undresser tool to quickly remove clothes from a photo.
You can also work with layers (available on the right) and there are also the classic options for brightness, contrast, hue, saturation and levels. One can also use gradients and blend modes. While the app is free, the Creative Cloud subscription isn’t, setting you back $9.99 a month. It also includes Photoshop and Lightroom across all compatible devices.
When all’s said and done, Photoshop for iPad is a light version of Photoshop, good enough for light work. Artists may need a more ample experience, though, while amateur and mid level photographers may want to hire a Clipping path service. You can get Photoshop for iPad from here.
