In spite of what Bloomberg was claiming yesterday, it seems the iPad 2 will debut on March 2, with shipment to follow in April. Reuters claims that Apple will organize a special event on March 2, meant to unveil the new product. As far as delays are concerned, manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. recently announced that the slates might be available in June, not April, quoting “production bottlenecks”.
The reason for these delays could be some design changes that were done before the Lunar New Year, according to Vincent Chen and Alison Chen, Yuanta analysts. This info cause the Apple shares to decline, but other analysts countered the info saying that Apple has a solid track record, so the product could be available in April after all.
Meanwhile, many are worried about Steve Jobs’ health and Tim Cook, Apple COO is expected to be on stage at the annual shareholder meeting on Wednesday, as he stands in or the CEO. All we know for sure about the new iPad is that it will be thinner, it will feature a camera or two and it might bring forth an improved display. We’ll just have to wait and see, as far as the launch is concerned!
