Lenovo ThinkPad P1 is the latest beast in Lenovo’s lineup of productivity oriented devices. This is a professional notebook, that can come with up to 64 GB of RAM. Power users relied on the X1 Carbon till now, but they seem to have a fresh alternative.
The ThinkPad P series is meant to offer improved functionality in a very slim package. The ThinkPad P1 debuted with the ThinkPad P72, as the go to laptops for business tasks. The P1 offers a 35% size decrease compared to the predecessors and measures just 18.4 mm in thickness. It also weighs 3.76 pounds and it’s promoted as the thinnest and lightest workstation laptop ever.
It packs a 4K 15.6 inch screen and the NVIDIA Quadro P series graphics cards (P2000 tops) for high end editing and VR work. Inside we find an 8th gen Intel Core processor, clocked up to 4.6 GHz, as well as up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM and 4 TB of storage. The product comes with your choice of Core i5, Core i7 or Core i9 or even a Xenon CPU. Two display options are available: one a multitouch 15.6 inch one and one a 4K 400 nights of brightness one.
There’s also WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and two Thunderbolt 3 ports, as well as two USB 3.1 Type-A connectors, a mini GbE header, HDMI 2.0 and optional smart card reader, plus fingerprint scanner. Windows 10 and a carbon fiber chassis are also here.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P72 wants to be a desktop replacement, with up to 6 TB of storage and up to 128 GB of DDR4 RAM, as well as 16 GB of Intel Optane memory. This is a 17.3 inch monster of laptop that utilizes the highest end of NVIDIA Quadro graphics, going up to the P5200 even.
