We were expecting an avalanche of hardware products to debut with Windows 10 and it has partially begun. Toshiba has announced two new slates, the Encore 10 and the Encore 10K, also known as the Satellite Click 10 from official certification documents and e-tailers.

One of these is actually a 2 in 1 tablet with Windows 10, not a standalone slate. Do not confuse any of these models with the relatively fresh Toshiba Encore 2 10, that debuted weeks ago. The Toshiba Encore 10 is a standalone device, while the Encore 10K is a hybrid with keyboard dock. Both share an IPS 10.1 inch Full HD screen with 10 contact points and Windows 10 or Windows 10 Pro on board.

The launch price is $299/$479 and they’ll be on sale in September. The tablet part weighs 589 grams and with the keyboard dock on, the weight reaches 1 kilogram. Inside we find the quad core Intel Atom x5 Cherry Trail processor, clocked up to 1.84 GHz, as well as 2 or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB SSD. Two cameras with 8 MP and 2 MP resolutions are on board.

As far as the connectivity goes, there’s WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 on board, as well as micro HDMI and mini USB 2.0. The battery provides 7 hours of functioning on the Encore 10 or 11 hours on the Encore 10K.
