Tesco’s Hudl tablet was probably one of the first slate releases from a store that’s usually associated with groceries and other run of the mill shopping. Now they’re releasing the Hudl 2, with good reason, since the first model sold over 750k units in the UK.

The new slate was unveiled in a full auditorium in London and it comes with both hardware and software changes. The newcomer adopts an Intel Atom quad core 1.83 GHz processor, an 8.3 inch Full HD screen and a range of 8 colors. Hudl 2 goes on sale on October 9th and it includes strong parental filters and the ability to set up to 7 user profiles separately. The price of the unit is 129 quid and you can bring it down to 65 quid using Club Card boost.

The tablet also features a similar design to its predecessor, only it’s thinner and comes in 8 colors versions, including black, purple, blue, red, aqua, pink, orange and white. Getting back to the specs, the Hudl 2 also brings 2 GB of RAM, stock Android 4.4 KitKat, a 5 megapixel rear camera and a front 1.2 MP shooter, as well as Dolby optimized rear speakers. Finally, there’s dual band WiFi, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot.
