Paul O’Brien, founder of the MoDaCo community has tweeted that the HTC Nexus 9 tablet will be launching on October 16th, according to an anonymous tipster. This may as well mean that this slate and the Motorola Nexus X will come together, since that model was rumored to pop up around Halloween.
We tend to believe Paul O’Brien, since he’s a reliable source and responsible with a big chunk of the folks who work with Android code. Last we heard, the Nexus 9 tablet had leaked via NVIDIA documents, that confirmed the Tegra K1 processor. This model is also sad to feature 2 or 3 GB of RAM, an affordable price tag, at least 16 GB of storage and some solid speakers, in the tradition of both BoomSound and Nexus 7 2013 speakers.
There should also be a solid camera, judging by the Nexus 7 2013 imaging abilities, plus a LTE version launched later on. It will be very interesting to see how HTC tackles the design part and if they go with metal or plastic. The latter may be chosen, because of the lower costs. What are your expectations for this model?
