The Surface Pro 3 docking station is now available to purchase in USA and Canada, apparently. Microsoft claims you can buy the accessory from retail stores, but also online and via authorized resellers in the US and Canada.

Surface Pro 3 owners can finally get cozy with their own docking station, that looks a bit massive to me. This gizmo comes in black and it has an impressive amount of ports at the back. It’s also used to prop up the device at an angle of about 45 degrees. Once you connect the Surface Pro 3 into the dock, you can operate it as if you were using a desktop computer. The dock will open up the Surface to connections with multiple other devices.

That’s all done with the aid of 3 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ones. There’s a dedicated Ethernet jack as well, plus connectors for displays like the Mini DisplayPort one. Finally there’s the option to connect speakers through the 3.5 mm audio jack (input/output). The docking station also comes with a security slot, so you can lock the dock to a desk and be sure it stays there. A good piece of news is that the dock also powers up the Surface, so you don’t need an extra cord.
