If you’re a gamer or have even remotely heard about popular PC games, I’m sure you’ve heard about Half-Life 2 or Portal, or at least played it. Well, starting today you can find on the Play Store both games, but only if you own an Nvidia Shield.
Valve says that fans of both franchises will get the same gameplay as on the PC. The graphics performance is sharp and the controls are precise and natural. Half Life 2 was released on November 16th 2004 after being developed for 5 years. It won 39 Game of the Year awards and it was name game of the decade in 2012. Portal came in 2007 with Half-Life 2: Episode Two. It came with an unique gravity concept and physics-based gameplay.
There’s actually hidden news here: I’m betting you will be able to run the games on other Tegra 4 devices and soon Tegra K1 devices. Also, I’m willing to bet that in the future hackers, modders and devs will port the game to Qualcomm and Intel tablets and smartphones. Each of the games costs about $10 and you can download Half Life 2 here and Portal here.
