This week there are two major events taking place in the world and they’re both related to tablets somehow. We’ve got Intel’s IDF going on in China tomorrow and also tomorrow BUILD 2014 kicks off. The latter is Microsoft’s developer event.

BUILD

At IDF 2014 we’ll see the Bay Trail-M/D in action, entry level slates with Android or Windows wireless charging solutions for 2015 Intel platforms. Then the real goodies will come at BUILD, where MS CEO Satya Nadella will take the stage and unveil info about future Windows 8.1 and some say even some slight hints about Windows 9.

Windows Phone 8.1 will debut, probably with a few phones and phablets in two and I’m pretty sure we’ll see some apps and games introduced for the MS platforms. A new Surface tablet may also be in the cards, maybe that Surface Mini we’ve been hearing so much about over the past year. Acer will show off the new W5/Switch 10 (pictured below) and W7 tablets and we’ll probably see companies like Samsung and ASUS also getting involved.
