Tablets with the ability to dual boot Windows 8 and Android aren’t a fresh invention, but the idea of a Bay Trail slate with such a system is. Chinese device maker Weu Yan as a new tablet called the Surge Tab PH-101, that you can check out below.
This is a 10 inch tablet that runs Windows 8 Pro and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with dual boot. There’s an Intel Celeron N2910 processor inside, based on the Bay Trail design and this chip is a quad core 1.6 GHz unit with a TDP of 7.5 watts. It has an SDP of 4.5 watt, so it uses more power than your typical Intel Atom chip, but not by much.
Surge Tab PH101 comes with 2 to 4 GB of RAM, 32 to 64 GB of SSD storage and its debut is expected sometime around October in China. The product will be sold with support for Chinese 3G wireless networks and a price tag of around $440 or even less. No idea if this will reach international market, but odds are slim.
