With Google predicting sales of 8 million Nexus 7 units before the year is out, it was bound that Europe got its share of official launches of the slate. This means that not only the 7 incher unit is selling like hot cakes via local retailers on the Old Continent, but now it’s also available via the Play Store in countries like Germany, France and Spain.
Markets like the US, UK, Canada and Australia already got the same treatment and I can imagine this spreading to Asia as well. Interestingly enough and predictably enough the prices are not the same, while the figures are, but in a different currency. So, the 8 GB Nexus 7 goes for 199 euros, while the 16GB one costs 249 euros in Germany and Spain. Meanwhile, in the UK you pay 159 quid for the 8GB tablet and 199 for the 16 GB version.
Even at these prices, the tablet is a bargain, since it offers a quad core CPU, 7 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display, actually a very good battery and a kickass gaming experience, plus Jelly Bean and Google Now. Of course, some may be put off by lack of main camera, 3G, microSD or landscape orientation in home screens, but this device has its own charm.
