Just as we found out that Apple would start making the iPad 7 this month, now we learn that we could see 5 new iPads in the near future. European regulatory agency EEC has certified them all and we have details below.
The Eurasian Economic Commission has given its blessing for these 5 devices, which worst case scenario are just 5 versions of the iPad 7. We’ve already heard the iPad 7 was supposed to follow the cheap iPad 9.7 incher from 2017 and the 2018 one. In 2019 we didn’t get such a model and the newcomer would jump to a bigger diagonal, 10.2 inches this time.
The documents of the filings mention model numbers A2068, A2198, A2230, A2197, and A2228. There’s not much to tell here, except for the fact that these devices come with iPadOS On board. This OS was showcased at WWDC 2019 last month and it’s a forked version off iOS 13. It has widgets on homescreen, split screen in third party apps and more.
Now back to the new tablets, aside from the 10.2 inch cheap iPad, we could see two new iPad Pros, which are rumored to have been postponed till Spring 2020. That’s because they may debut in 5G versions. A new 10.5 inch iPad with a fresh design is also rumored, with a launch time frame of late 2019. I feel the need to remind you that Apple already launched two tablets this year, the iPad Mini 5 and the iPad Air 10.5.
