XIDU is another one of those names that may make it big, or may disappear in the night, a Chinese firm that debuted a budget touchscreen laptop. They may well be the next Chuwi, who knows? Their product is called Philbook and it’s a 2 in 1 device with Windows 10.

XIDU is actually a series of products, believe it or not and there’s more than one laptop in it. The XIDU PhilBook is priced at just $269.99 and it’s supposed to surpass the performance of larger brand models. Specs aren’t half bad, starting with a 360 degree hinge and 11.6 inch tocuchscreen with a Full HD res on an IPS panel. There’s also an Intel Atom quad core CPU inside, which sounds like the compromise here.

Plus, we add 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. WiFi 802.11 b/g/n is part of the package, as well as Bluetooth 4.0. Connectivity is actually generous, between the USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0, mini HDMI and audio jack. We also have the promise of 7-8 hours of battery life, which definitely sounds hot. I see a metal build in the renders, but it’s probably all plastic in the end.

If you ask me, the device’s only drawback is the CPU and a Celeron would have been nice at least. It’s more of a Chromebook rival, with a good price. You can get it on Amazon USA.
