The famous Xiaomi MiPad tablet has received a teardown, that shows us its insides. The slate comes with a 7.9 inch display and it was released last month, available in pink, blue, white, yellow and green.
This model stands out through its powerful processor, the Nvidia Tegra K1, accompanied by 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot that offers up to 128 GB of extra storage and an 8 megapixel back shooter. The 6700 mah battery promises no less than 1200 hours of standby time. The lowest price for the Xiaomi MiPad is $240 for the 16 GB unit and $272 for the 64 GB version.
I see a motherboard that’s very compact here and lots of chips implanted on it. I see that there are about 10 or so screws involved in the assembly and a basic plastic case with a few layers of components. The repairability should be pretty high, judging by these pictures. It’s very interesting to me that the battery seems pretty small here, or smaller than I expected…
