We’re approaching Q1 2013, when a bunch of very interesting products will debut in the tech world. Among them we find some very interesting Windows 8 slates, just like the ASUS VivoTab, that’s now up for preorder. We’re dealing with an $800 slate that features a 11.6 inch Super IPS+ screen with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.
The tablet is powered by Intel’s Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor and it’s available with an optional keyboard dock, that will double the runtime of the tablet and also turns it into a sort of smaller ultrabook. You may think that the preorder price includes the keyboard, but actually it doesn’t sadly, so you’ll have to pay an extra $200 for it. Other hardware features include 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB of SSD storage, integrated WiFi, Bluetooth and an 8 megapixel rear camera.
There’s also a 2 megapixel front camera available, for video conferencing purposes. The only good news we can relate to this debut is that Windows 8 supports apps associated with typical desktop PCs, like those you ran on Windows 8. Or you could just buy the $599 Tegra 3-based ASUS VivoTab RT slate…
