ASUS showcased quite a few products at CES 2022, perhaps the biggest number of them all, even beating out Lenovo. They had the ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet and also a slew of gaming accessories and laptops, but also a more concept device, the ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED. We’re dealing with a foldable laptop-tablet hybrid, which is detailed below.

It’s name is actually ASUS ZenBook 17 Fold OLED (UX9702) and it’s a device that lets you use a single screen in tablet mode, laptop mode and also “book” mode. We’re dealing here with a 17.3 inch 4:3 aspect ratio panel, that provides a desktop-like experience when it’s propped up on a table and used with a wired or wireless keyboard. If you fold it down the middle, you’re getting a book-like device with two 12.5 inch screens, each with a 3:2 aspect ratio.

You can use it like a laptop, with one part showing a virtual keyboard and the other the actual desktop image. The device ships with an ASUS ErgoSense Bluetooth Keyboard, that has an integrated touchpad with 1.4 mm key travel. You can place it on the screen while in laptop model or use it as a separate device, if you want to use the computer full screen like a mobile desktop of sorts.

The above mentioned screen provides a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels and also offers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Just above the screen panel you can find a 5 MP webcam for video calls and also a HD IR camera for Windows Hello, plus a color sensor for ambient light and color calibration. Specs include an Intel Core i7-1250U processor, with 10 cores and Intel Iris Xe graphics. Up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1 TB of PCIe X4 SSD are also here.

Quad speaker with Dolby Atmos are present, as well as Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and a 75 Wh battery. Ports are a bit on the light side: two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The whole thing measures 8.7 mm in thickness when unfolded and weighs 1.65 kilograms, sans keyboard of course. he device will be available in the second half of 2022, but we don’t have a price just yet.
