We already knew you can control a car with an iPhone or iPad, but what about a tricked out SUV with skis attached? Toyota sponsored a competition that spawned this creative idea.
The purpose was to come up with the most creative customized vehicle for the SEMA auto aftermarket products trade show. One of the entries involved a tricked out vehicle, the Toyota 4Runner SUV, controlled through a smartphone or iPad. This entry came from Herbst Smith Fabrication and it was not even the winning one, so imagine the other rivals.
This vehicle can extend skis with the simple push of a button. There are two iPads inside, from and back for entertainment and navigation and controlling the windows, among others. The ski rack can electronically lower and open to store two sets of skis and that can be triggered from the iPad.
