Apple held a big Spring event on May 7th, one meant to unveil new iPad Air and iPad Pro models. The latter packs a new Apple M4 CPU and the former comes forth in two new sizes: 11 inch and 13 inches, with Apple M2 CPU. The iPad Air 6 or iPad Air 2024 is detailed below.

The 2024 iPad Air features a Liquid Retina display and is available in either an 11-inch or a 13-inch model, depending on your preferences and needs. The 13-inch model offers 20% more “screen” than the base variant. The new tablet now includes a landscape-positioned front webcam and features Center Stage support, ensuring the subject is always centered in the image.

On the audio side, we note landscape stereo speakers with Spatial Audio, and the Air 12.9 inch offers three times more bass. In terms of materials, the new Air tablets are built from recycled aluminum and come in four color options: Blue, Violet, Starlight White, and Space Grey. Naturally, a processor upgrade was also necessary, and whereas the 2022 model boasted an Apple M1 chip, it has now been upgraded to an Apple M2 chip, which is 50% faster than the previous Air generation.

There is also support for Apple Pencil with hover gestures, and a welcome update is that the base models now have double the storage compared to the 2022 model, i.e., 128 GB. There are also options with 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage, with the starting price set at $599.
