TCL is best known for TV sets lately, pretty solid ones too and for a while they took over the Alcatel and BlackBerry brands. Now they’re making headlines via the fact that they’re launching an affordable 4G LTE tablet, priced below $200. We have more details below about the TCL TAB 8 model.

TCL TAB 8 is a product sold through Verizon and it’s an 8 inch Full HD+ device, exclusive to Verizon. It’s priced at $199.99 and inside we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor (octa core, 2 GHz), 3 GB of RAM, plus 32 GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot. The battery is a 5500 mAh unit and TCL promises 17 hours of mixed usage. The new slate only comes in Suede Black and it’s promoted as a device for learning from home and also working from home.

TCL Tab 8 has Dragontrail glass protection, runs on Android 10 and offers an 8 megapixel autofocus camera and 5 MP fixed focus shooter. 4 Dolby Atmos able speakers are here, plus WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and 4G LTE. There’s also an USB-C port at the bottom, an audio jack and a fingerprint reader for security. It all weighs 11.5 oz and measures 0.34 inches in thickness. A 10 inch version wouldn’t hurt, either.
