A recent survey conducted by VoucherCodes.co.uk between 15 and 18 October on 3,000 UK respondents showed that Apple’s iPad has weak points, in spite of its tablet market dominance. Although when the year began some said that 2010 will be the year of the tablet, we have the same thing to say about 2011, since some pretty interesting devices will be launched in the following months.

Apple may be leading the pack with the iPad, but they’ll have some serious challengers to the title, most likely products made by Dell and RIM, plus Samsung. These 3 companies get most of the public’s trust in delivering an iPad rival according to the study quoted above. Price is a key factor in deciding whether or not to buy slates, specially for women.

Meanwhile, men look at features and speaking of price, it appears that a cheaper iPad rival will make waves and for a $160 discount, over 30% of the market is willing to move away from the Apple slate. People want tablets for instant web access, reading e-books, social network contact and media features, as the survey shows.

For now, the iPad has a good shot of staying on top, but a hit product from one of its rivals, with a cheap price will knock it down for sure.
