Remember that hot tablet with a 2560 x 1600 pixel display that earlier this year was rumored to be handled by some journalists in trade show backstages? Well, the device is back, alive and well, this time as a new Nexus tablet, maybe even that Nexus 10 that was seen on Picasa taking pictures recently. And it’s Samsung making it, if rumors are correct…

I have to remind you that Google has a press event set for October 29th, where they’re speculated to unveil a Nexus Phone or two, plus some new Nexus tablets and Android 4.2. There’s also that 32 GB Nexus 7 to unveil and its 3G version, so there are many potential products coming next Tuesday. With a 10 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel, the Samsung tablet would surpass the iPad 3’s Retina Display and its 264 ppi, by going to 300 ppi. This slate, if it exists will run Android 4.2 and probably has a quad core CPU.

Inside the Korean manufacturer the product is supposedly codenamed Manta, a name we’ve seen leaked before on the web, but only related to Motorola somehow. Other launches on the 29th may include the Nexus 7 versions mentioned above, as well as the LG Nexus 4 and Android 4.2 showcased as a new product itself. I doubt we’ll see more than one new tablet at the event…
