Today was marked by not one, not two, but 3 leaked Samsung tablets. First there’s a MediaTek-based model floating around, then there’s a Tab S7 Lite rumor and now a Galaxy Tab A 8.4 inch (2021) leaks in 3D CAD renders. It’s rare that we see smaller tablets anymore, so this device definitely caught our eye.
So far we have the device’s dimensions and 3D CAD renders courtesy of Mysmartprice working with famous leakster @OnLeaks. Turns out that the device will come with an 8.4 inch screen, probably a TFT LCD if the price is low or IPS LCD if it’s higher, or even a Super AMOLED if Samsung is feeling generous. The source mentions dimensions like 201.9 x 125.2 x 7 mm. Expect a selfie camera which is not cut in the screen, but rather placed in the bezel. The back camera should be a single sensor affair.
We expect a Power button and volume rockers on the right and an USB-C port at the bottom, flanked by speaker grilles. We may even end up with quad speakers. There’s also a secondary microphone hole and a 3.5 mm audio jack. On the left lies a microSD card slot and SIM card slot. Last year’s 8.4 inch model had 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM, so we’re due at least 64 Gb of storage and 4 GB of RAM. A 5000 mAh battery may be in the cards and hopefully we get something better than eMMC storage, although I doubt it.
Android 11 would also be nice, but once again, I doubt it. Expect a $250 price tag. Judging by the pics below the back feels a lot like the one of the iPad Mini.
