Following a week filled with leaks of specs and images (yesterday), Samsung has finally announced officially the Galaxy S II smartphone and the Galaxy Tab 2 slate. The handset uses a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display and a 1GHz dual core CPU, while the Galaxy Tab 2 gets detailed after the break.

It’s important to mention that the new Galaxy S smartphone is now officially the thinnest handset in the world, with a 8.49mm waistline, even less than the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. Back to the tablet, the Galaxy Tab 2 uses a 10.1 inch display (1280 x 800), it runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb and comes with an 8MP camera with full HD video recording.

Dual surround sound speakers are also present and we have to mention that this powerful camera could be a game changer in the current tablet market, since Galaxy Tab 2’s rivals don’t have such powerful photo sensors.
