Samsung just announced that the 10.1 inch version of the Galaxy Tab 2 is available for preorder. The device has a starting price of $399.99 for the 16GB unit and now all rumors about the delay of the product are gone.
At some point during the last two weeks, there was a theory on the interwebs that Samsung was ready to postpone the launch of the Galaxy Tab 2, in order to outfit it with a quad core CPU. Eventually they decided to stick to the original plan and launch the tablet as it is and as it was announced at MWC 2012. The product appears on preorder status at Amazn and Office Depot (online stores).
It packs a dual core 1 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 3 megapixel camera at the back, plus a front videocall camera. This device runs Android 4.0 ICS, making it the only Samsung tablet to do that right now. Office Depot lists the product as available on May 11th, while Amazon will ship it from May 13th. There should be a 32GB version at some point as well…
