Verizon’s got a cool new update coming to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. The software update is not the Ice Cream Sandwich you’re expecting, but instead you get I905-EL01 firmware, with a bunch of interesting new functions. For one thing you get an improved TouchWiz UX and a new Social Hub widget, plus built in photo editing support.

There’s also The Daily app included, a new application that provides the latest news/information to the users. The update also comes with Bluetooth 3.0 compatibility, extra support for some more WiFi routes, DivX support, security patches, enhancements to the TouchWiz music and video players and support for standard VPN clients. No idea when this update will come your way, since it was merely spotted in Verizon’s system and not even confirmed.

Do you fancy a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 nowadays, when we’re so close to yet another generation of tablets form the South Korean giant? Keep an eye out for our website at MWC 2012, since we’ll be reporting from there…
