We usually cover serious tablets, big ones or affordable ones meant for adults, but today one made for kids arrived on our radar. It’s dubbed TCL TAB Disney Edition and it’s a kids tablet with a generous battery life and a rugged body.
TCL TAB Disney Edition is made by prolific brand TCL, who used the own the rights for the Alcatel brand and also for BlackBerry. It’s basically the same tablet as the TCL TAB, except for the fact it comes with Disney-themed features and a protective case. The device has a decent set of specs, that include an 8 inch Full HD screen with DragonTrail glass protection and also a rubberized case. It includes 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, but the storage is expandable by up to 256 GB via microSD card slot.
As far as the cameras are concerned, we get an 8 megapixel main shooter and a 5 MP front camera, which can also be used for videocalls. The new TCL tablet offers 4G LTE connectivity and a kickstand accessory. Inside we find a 5500 mAh battery that offers up to 17 hours of activity on a single charge. On board we find preloaded Disney-themed content, like games, puzzles, wallpapers and more. 5 preloaded games are also available, including famous Disney characters.
There are Disney characters printed on the case and the device is priced slightly under $200. The product is available exclusively on Verizon for now.
