As you probably know already, Google has an event scheduled for October 4th, one related to its new Pixel phones and possibly a VR headset. Some say they could also bring a new tablet there, a so called Pixel 7 slate.

Previously Evan Blass revealed intel that Google was ready to unveil a new 7 inch tablet made by Huawei and packing 4 GB of RAM. We haven’t heard much from him since about the topic, but various other leaks seemed to corroborate that story. It’s been a while since the last release of a smaller Nexus tablet, 2013 if I remember correctly.

It was followed by the not too well liked Nexus 9 and the pretty expensive but still cool Pixel C hybrid. The return to the roots may bring us a 7 inch Full HD or Quad HD screen, 32 GB or 64 GB of storage and a Snapdragon 820 CPU. There should also be an USB Type C CPU inside, plus a fingerprint scanner on board and of course Android Nougat as the OS.
