The latest rumor regarding future tablets comes today from Samsung, who is supposed to be preparing a Galaxy Note 8 to unveil at Mobile World Congress 2013. Previously we’ve heard speculations about a 7 inch Galaxy Note with stylus, but now the model has become an 8 incher.
According to SamMobile, a reasonably solid source about Samsung releases, the new device will feature an 8 inch 1280 x 800 LCD screen, a 5 megapixel main camera and a 1.3 megapixel front shooter. There will also be 2 GB of RAM on board, 32 GB of storage, microSD expansion and a 4600 mAh battery. Galaxy Note 8 will also have Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.2. The measurements of the device are supposed to be 211.3 x 136.3 x 7.95 mm, being slightly lighter than the Nexus 7.
Galaxy Note 8 is rumored to launch in both 3G and WiFi versions, but no info about LTE. Samsung hasn’t been having much luck with unusual formats like the Galaxy Tab 7.7 or Galaxy Tab 8.9, although the former was actually a very good tablet. Now with the S Pen in the mix and a resolution that makes me believe the price will be affordable, I can see this product succeeding.
