Samsung and the Brussels Philarmonic are working together on replacing the orchestra’s music paper sheets with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. The South Korean giant supplied 100 16 GB Galaxy Note 10.1 units, preloaded with the neoScores software.

The slate that features the famous S Pen stylus will allow musicians to change or correct notes and share them, plus it features a special concert mode, that will avoid interference during the concert. There’s also a special and improved page sweeping system and all of this is done to save paper, actually tons of paper used each year and tape. Up to 25,000 euros can be saved with this replacement. It was expected that technology would help artists in their endeavor, as it has helped other professions such as doctors, pilots and many more.

It’s interesting to see Samsung involved in such a replacement for once, since it was usually the iPad that made the news when such things occured. In hospitals and various airports, the Apple tablet is omnipresent in daily activities, but rival products are starting to find their way to these segments as well…
