There was quite a bit of speculation regarding Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 2 but that’s pretty much over now. Between the teasers from SDC 2019 and the newly leaked live pictures of the device, it’s clear we’re getting a clamshell. The device was pictured in live shots for the first time thanks to Ben Geskin, who found a Weibo posting of it.

It seems that not all news is good, though. I see that the device is very long and has large bezels, plus also a pretty large punch hole selfie camera. At least it’s prettier than the Moto RAZR 2019 notch. The leak actually came from Weibo and was quoted by Ben Geskin. The clamshell foldable is expected to be unveiled with the Galaxy S11 series in February 2020. It has the same hinge mechanism as the Galaxy Fold, if you look closely at the caps that cover the gaps between the folding parts.

Sadly, the crease of the screen is much more visible here than on the Moto RAZR 2019. The outer screen is also very small, enough to just show a notification line or two. While we have no specs to go boy, we’ve heard the internal screen should be anywhere between 6.7 and 6.9 inches in diagonal. There will be only two back cameras this time, not 3 like the first Fold. Also, the first Fold had a total of 3 selfies cameras, which felt like overkill.

We’ve heard the Fold 2 may cost as little as $850 and at least one of its batteries will be 850 mAh in capacity. There’s probably two of them, or maybe even 3 inside. I have a pretty strong feeling this is a mere prototype, since Samsung wouldn’t want to put out something with huge edges in 2020. The first Fold prototype also had large edges.
