RuggON PX-501B is a new rugged tablet, with a 10.1 inch display and a solid Broadwell CPU. The newcomer relies on an Intel Core i5 CPU, of the 5th generation, with Intel Turbo Boost technology, clocked up to 2.9 GHz.
There’s also Intel vPro technology and integrated Intel HD Graphics 6000. The CPU update from the previous gen means that we get 30% better battery life. On paper we get 6.5 hours or 13 hours of extended battery life. A hot swap battery design is available and the display mentioned above offers up to 1000 nits of brightness.
The design continuity is here, since the new Ruggon Rextorm model has a similar housing compared to the previous slates from the same series. Accessories like barcode scanners, or magnetic stripe readers are intercompatible, as well as hot swap batteries. The device is IP54 certified, for water and shock resilience and can also survive offroad driving.
The price tag is $2799 and the product is available this month.
