Gaming tablets seem to be dying down, since we have so many portable consoles with Windows to play with. Including the new one from Acer, MSI Claw, the multiple ASUS ROG Ally versions and Lenovo Legion Go. It’s also true that Lenovo has a new gaming tablet coming and now Xiaomi’s Redmi will have one too.

Redmi unveiled the Pad Pro in May 2024 in China, so they do have a tablet under their name at least. It had a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor and it was the most powerful Redmi tablet so far. A post from reliable Weibo leakster Digital Chat Station now reveals there’s a new gaming-focused tablet coming. It’s got a Snapdragon 8 series flagship CPU inside, perhaps even a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Previously the same source teased in August that Redmi was working on a flagship tablet with a compact design and a LCD display. It was merely a prototype back then and it seemed that the device would come in 2025. Now the same product seems mentioned here. The upcoming tablet may perform better than the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 7 series of flagship tablets.

The Pad 7 Lineup is expected to include a Pad 7 and a Pad 7 Pro model. They will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU and feature 11.16 inch LCD displays. Nubia also recently launched a tablet called Red Magic Nova in China, with a 10.9 inch LCD display, a cooling fan and transparent back.
