During this week’s Razer Con 2022, Razer unveiled a brand new portable gaming device, one dubbed Razer Edge. The machine is a powerful Android tablet designed with cloud gaming in mind. Turns out that handheld gaming is still at hing. Razer Edge is available in two versions, a $400 WiFi model and a Verizon-exclusive 5G unit.

The tablet ships with the Razer Kishi V2 Pro, which is a modified version of the Razer Kishi V2 controller. It has a dedicated audio jack and haptics. Razer Edge packs a 6.8 inch display with a 144 Hz refresh rate and an AMOLED panel with 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution. The device is quite the serious upgrade from the Logitech G Cloud. Inside we find a Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 processor, which was tailor made for this console and it should be enough for casual gaming and more sophisticate games like fruit blast.

Turns out that game streaming is more the focus here. For that purpose, the device offers Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and 5G. We also find 6 vents at the back of the device and the battery is a 5000 mAh unit. The Edge comes with a Game Pass, NVIDIA GeForce, Steam Link, all preinstalled. At its core it’s still an Android tablet, so you can go ahead and install games from the Play Store. This device runs on Android 12 and has 128 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, plus 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a microSD card slot.

The measurements are 259.7 x 84.5 x 10.83 mm and it all weighs 263.8 grams. We also find a5 megapixel camera here, upfront. The device will be shown off at CES 2023 and it’ll be priced at $499. It goes on sale in January 2023.
