The device you can see in the images below is a tablet known as Pad, a simple name, that hides a bunch of pretty decent specs, like a 10.2 inch display, 3G support, WiFi a/b/g, 3 USB ports, an Ethernet port and VGA output. There’s also an SD card reader on board, a 1.3 megapixel webcam and a microphone.
The tablet weighs under a kilo, uses a 1.6 GHz Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD and the screen’s resolution is 1024 x 600 pixels. Pad was developed in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Seline, now available in version 10 with a touchscreen interface and a dedicated keyboard. Handwriting recognition is also on board and the device can run Windows 7.
Expect the product to retail for less than 500 euros and more details will be available soon.
