The famous Nvidia Shield console has received an update to Android 4.3, getting a bit of a head start in front of quite a bunch of big tablets and handsets. The update brings support for more Android games, reaching thousands of supported titles on the platform.
Android 4.3 also introduces a Console Mode, allowing users to play games on a big screen TV, just by pairing the device up with a Bluetooth controller. Nvidia GameStream becomes Console Mode ready, allowing you to stream PC games to a TV set. Thanks to the update, Shield gamers will benefit from a new Gamepad Mapper mode.
This one allows users to map touchscreen controls for games to the gamepads. Other improvements include restricted profiles, expandable and actionable notifications and the option to move certain app and game files to SD cards. Did anyone actually buy this device?
