In spite of the rumors saying Microsoft forced Nokia to can the Sirius tablet project, it appears that the Finns will go ahead with the initiative. There’s a fresh piece of rumor saying that on October 22nd when the Lumia 1520 we may also see a tablet taking off.
We have seen some pictures of the red version of the slate and heard it may run Windows RT. Microsoft was said to axe it in order to not cannibalize its new Surface products. @evleaks seems sure that we’ll see the Sirius with the Bandit phablet next month. As far as the Nokia sale thing is concerned, the investors have yet to vote for it, so there’s a 1% chance Microsoft will not take over Nokia in the end, but it will probably happen…
If the Sirius is real, it will be a 10.1 inch Full HD IPS device with a quad core Qualcomm 8974 CPU, a 6.7 megapixel rear camera and Carl Zeiss optics. The device is said to measure 0.35 inches in thickness and weigh 1.3 pounds. There’s even a rumored price tag of $499.
