A new leak of the iPad Pro (2018) has appeared, this time making it look a bit like the good old HP TouchPad. That time has long passed and we’re now left with a story of a fire sale, when HP was basically giving away its failed slate. The new iPad seems a bit like that model, at least design wise.
It has leaked before and the last rumors placed it on October 23rd for a launch window. We can see its case and facade here, plus a stylus snuggled next to it. The source isn’t very clear if this is the 2018 or 2019 iPad Pro, so it could be either. I can’t see any Home button and also no notch, at least at first sight. The Apple Pencil also looks the same as it did for the past years, so no change here either.
What we can see for sure is the bar at the bottom of the UI, meaning we get the swipe gestures of the iPhone X. With Adobe announcing a new flavour of Photoshop for the iPads coming in 2019, this would fit the new iPad like a glove. We’re expecting a new Apple A12X CPU inside and previous 3D CAD renders point towards these measurements: 280.6 x 215 x 5.85 mm.
The thickness goes to 7.77 mm if you included the camera bump. I’m also pretty sure we’ll get 4 speakers, dual back camera and a beefy battery. By the way the case above is made by UAG.
